Summary
Invented by Dr. Greenbox this device could separate rare and precious stones from rock without digging. First tested by prison inmate Rex Shard the kat with a nine-life sentence quickly saw its potential. Breaking it open to gain access to the jewels it had uncovered, Shard accidentally activated the machine, which exploded and transformed him into a crystalline monster. The second prototype of the device was later modified to revert Shard back to normal.
