Atropos
In Enemies
Moira currently resides as a fashionable, if reclusive, member of Megakat City’s upper class, with the claim that she makes her living through investment. She keeps her identities of Moira and Atropos carefully separate, and those who wish to hire Atropos as a thief, spy, assassin, etc. do so through a separate message system. Since she is no longer young, Moira hopes to enter the permanent employ of a powerful supervillain, but so far she has not found one to her liking.
Name: Moira Cutter
Code Name: Atropos
Rank: N/A
Age: 45
Gender: Female
Height: 4’11”
Status: Villain
Physical Description:
Moira is a plump little she-kat, with a rounded face, dainty hands and feet, and a sleek tail that curls slightly at the tip. She has white fur that darkens to grayish-cream on her face, ears, hands, forearms, and tail. Her curly hair is very dark brown with a few strands of gray, and reaches almost to her waist. Moira’s most unusual feature is her eyes: her left eye is blue-gray, and her right eye is amber.
Moira considers herself a high-class lady of society, and tries to dress accordingly: elegant skirts and blouses, gowns, or business-dresses, usually with sandals and expensive (or expensive-looking) jewelry. As Atropos, she wears a heavy, hooded black robe with gray gloves and slippers, and a veil of specially designed metamaterial “cloth” that acts like a one-way mirror, obscuring her face in gray but letting her see through clearly. When she needs to work in darkness, she wears small night-vision goggles under the veil.
Personality Traits:
When she first meets someone, Moira does her best to appear charming, attractive, and trustworthy, hoping to be underestimated and to learn how the person can be manipulated. She has no desire to be a leader, but allies herself with those who do – they get the power, and she gets the money. Vain, spiteful, and self-centered, Moira is a firm believer in survival of the fittest, not much caring about the wellbeing of others unless she or her expensive lifestyle is threatened. When that happens, she becomes vicious, and willing to go to any length for revenge.
Abilities:
Moira is telekinetic, able to push and lift objects (and kats) with her mind. While her power, like any ability, can be improved with training, she normally can’t lift anything heavier than her own body, and her psi-strength weakens the more tired or injured she becomes.
Moria also has a working knowledge of physics and electronics, and a good knowledge of dark magic, although she has no magical talent of her own. Otherwise, she is an ordinary she-kat of average strength and stamina.
Relationships:
She keeps in contact with business associates who might help her in the future, but otherwise has no close relationships.
Past History:
Moira was born in Megakat City, the only child of George Cutter, a weapons manufacturer who made his fortune during Mega War II, and Elene Stavros, a socialite. Moira’s parents mostly ignored her, spending large sums to keep her distracted with gifts and out of the way at boarding schools. Thus, she learned early on to see her family as nothing but a source of money, and wanted a way to control the funds herself. Although she was intelligent and a good student, Moira was also a troublemaker – she enjoyed manipulating other kittens, and punishment only taught her the importance of not getting caught.
In high school, Moira caught the attention of her school’s assistant librarian, a member of the cult Argyros Xarai. He introduced her to the cult’s leader, the infamous occultist Alastair Clawley. Clawley manipulated the young she-kat’s greed, promising that he could help Moira gain her parents’ fortune, and more, if she pledged to serve him.
In accordance with their pact, Clawley’s followers kidnapped George and Elene Cutter, and Clawley sacrificed them, using the raw power from their souls to create Moira’s telekinetic powers. He had intended to use Moira as a living weapon, but Moira had her own plans – her first act after gaining her powers was to report Clawley and his cult to the Enforcers.
Moira played the role of innocent, weeping victim through Clawley’s trial, and was never connected to her parents’ murder. She inherited their fortune, and after completing her schooling at home, she began living the life of a rich socialite. To make sure the money would never run out, she created the persona of Atropos, the mysterious, villainous maid-of-all-work for anyone rich enough to pay.
