- Blitzed IRC – Web Chat – This is a web application that you can use in your web browser without having to download a client.
- Trillian – Trillian connects to multiple instant messaging services without the need of running multiple clients. Users can create multiple connections to the same service (including IRC), and can also group connections under separate identities to prevent confusion.
- Pidgin (formerly named Gaim) is a multi-platform instant messaging client. The software supports many commonly used instant messaging protocols, allowing the user to log into various different services from one application. Pidgin is free software.
