Dave gets promoted as a position for detective opens. He’s to work with Ling Xiao when his work is completed. Calling up Josie first to tell her the good news, some of his co-workers congradulate him and are surprised to hear he’s got a girlfriend.
<Ling> ::alright. after looking over many prospective officers and getting the final say from the chief, David Santo has made it to the newly opened Detective position. got the notice yesterday that everything’s been filed and what not, so will go and inform him now. heads down to where the officers are, looking for Santo’s desk::
<Dave> ::is at his desk as he often is filing in all the forms and doting all the I’s and crossing all the Ts… sighs and sips his coffee.::
<Dave> ::hates being in the “Bullpen”
<Ling> ::finds where he’s at, the one who “never breaks save a trip to the loo” who’s a “stiff” and other such adjectives about Dave’s hardworking straight laced nature. approaches his desk and smiles:: Officer Santo?
<Dave> ::blinks and ears twitch as she stands behind himsits up and looks round… standing up and saulting as soon as he sees who it is!:: Detective Xiao ::yeah, Dave rep is the school swot XDD most detectives would not have worked with him by choice::
<Ling> ::smiles:: At ease. I came to personally inform you that your request for detective has finally come through. Congradulations, Santo. You’ve been promoted. ::holds hand out to shake::
<Dave> ::eyes widen! stares at the hand… inside is skipping up and down, but suppresses his want to do that… nods and smiles, shaking her hand:: Thank you detective. This is an honour. I trust there will be enough time for me to finish my current case files before I move? It will be a lot harder for me to keep up with the files I’m working on if I move desks while completing them
<Ling> All current casefiles you’re working on will be assigned to other officers, unless there are any you feel are important enough for you to keep.
<Dave> ::smiles:: All cases are important Detective Xiao. And I do not want any of the criminals to slip through paperwork…::looks at the tall pile on his desk:: I can have it done by the end of the day
<Ling> I know all cases are important. I mean that you feel you yourself need to keep working on and finish. Do not rush in your casework. You have a couple days to complete anything necessary before beginning your detective duties. You’re assigned a partner who will expect you on Monday :;today Friday we’ll say. hands him a folder with paperwork and all:: and you’ll need these signed by then.
<Dave> ::nods, taking the folder and saluts:: Thank you again Detective Ling… I look forward to this new responsablity
<Ling> Of course. I look forward to working with you. ::turns now to walk away::
<Dave> ::as soon as she walks away goes to grab his phone…finger hovers over the speed dial for mother… but then pushes Josie’s button… swishing his taill as he opens up the folder::
<Josie> ::exhausted, taking the day off from everything that’s gone off lately. is currently at the supermarket picking up some grocieries. wants to try and cook something tonight as she’s been practicing with her mom’s recipes:: Hello?
<Dave> ::grinning ear to ear:: Hello my lady love… are you enjoying your time off?
<Josie> I suppose, though I hate going to the store. If it wasn’t an abuse of power, I’d have it as an agent’s mission. ::little chuckle then pauses:: Wait… aren’t you at work right now, Dave? Is something the matter? ::lol he hardly EVER calls her from work, much less to chat::
<Dave> ::chuckles:: even then, you wouldn’t waste the time of high skilled agents… you haven’t got it in you. And I am at work, just you had to be told this first of all my love… You’ll have another thing to brag about over your cousin…

<Josie> ::gasps:: Oh really? That’s wonderful! And about time too, seriously after everything you’ve done, you should’ve been promoted ages ago! ::giddy sounding lol:: Congradulations, mi amor. This calls for a celebration. You have any off time soon?
<Dave> ::purrs at the joy in her voice… maybe the first time anyone in the office has heard him purr:: Sadly not till Sunday, my American Rose… I have to finish up all my case files to the best of my ablitilies before Monday and I suppect it will take the best part of 2 days
<Josie> Well that will give me plenty of time to prepare. I was saving this surprise for Valentine’s Day but it won’t hurt to be a bit early on. ::purrs in return::
<Dave>… ::blinks: Valentine’s Day? Again?

<Dave> ::make sure it has spices then, Josie ^^… irks and tail straighens, ears shoot up, looks around to Dan once he has settled, coughs:: Yes, Office Adams… I am now or soon will be Detective

<Dan> Well guess you won’t have to put up with us “slackers” anymore. ::leans against his desk::
<Dave> ::raises his brow and looks at Dan:: neither will I have to endure you treating a desk as you would a seat
<Dan> So who was that you were purrin’ to on the phone eh? ::snickers:: Don’t tell me you actually have a girlfriend?
<Dave> ::face turns the colour of his hair and coughs and rubs the back of his neck:: That is no concern of yours, Dan ::ooooo first name… he’s annoyed X3:: But for your information, I do have a relationship with a young lady which is why unlike you, I am not constently on report for being spotted flirting in uniform.
