Dear Warner Bros.,

I am a fan of the show SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron, an animated series for television created by Christian and Yvon Tremblay and produced by Hanna-Barbera and Turner Program Services in 1994. The show is periodically rerun on the Cartoon Network classic channel Boomerang. The show’s rights are currently held by Warner Bros.

There were a total of 23 original episodes over two seasons, with one special Clip Show episode capping the series off. The story takes place in a fictional city ("Megakat City") inhabited by Anthropomorphic felines (known as "Kats") and chronicles the adventures of two superhero best friends who fight super-crime under secret identities. The show was Hanna-Barbera's attempt to compete with Batman: The Animated Series and features a more serious tone akin to The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest.

Variety named SWAT Kats the #1 new syndicated animated show of 1994.

After nearly 18 years, SWAT Kats still has a strong internet fan base. Many fans believe that the action-oriented premise of the show would fit well with Warner Bros.'s current Cartoon Network lineup on Friday nights. The premise also offers a number of merchandizing opportunities.

Christian Tremblay, co-creator of the show, has also expressed an interest in bringing the series back to television. Recently, SWAT Kats was successfully released on DVD on WBShop.com and Amazon.com.

Every episode of the series was directed by Robert Alvarez. The bulk of the series was written by either Glenn Leopold (13 episodes) or Lance Falk (6 episodes). Jim Stenstrum contributed two episodes, while David Ehrman, Von Williams, Eric Clark (with Lance Falk), Mark Saraceni and Jim Katz all contributed one episode. Several of these people are still working in the animation industry for Warner Bros. today.
